6/15 Historic Series at Wrigley Field

For the second time in history the Boston Red Sox will play an interleague series at Wrigley field vs. the Cubs.  Old Friend's Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer are rebuilding the franchise and it's going to be a long project.  The Cubs are a terrible team currently and the Sox should have sweep on their mind.  Today's game is at 2:20 EST check back here for updates throughout the game.  Go Sox!!

  1. Obviously the Red Sox are losing 3-0 after 6 innings this afternoon at Wrigley. Dice K gave up 2 in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd before settling down. He hasn't allowed a run in four straight innings. As Jason pointed out a couple days ago this team just isn't effing hitting the ball right now. Another thing this team lacks is balls. Whenever this team gets behind early they start to press and they have no shot to win.

  2. Not only could the Sox not beat the lowly, pitiful Cubs they did not score even one goddamn run. They must win the next two in Chitown. And on top of this debacle, Josh Beckett has been pulled from Sunday's start with shoulder inflammation to be replaced by Franklin Morales.

  3. Busy transaction weekend for the Sox. Josh Beckett goes on the DL. The Sox called up Clayton Mortensen to take his roster spot and Franklin Morales will start in Beckett's place on Sunday Night. On Sunday, Ryan Sweeney has been put on the DL and OF Ryan Kalish has been called up to take his place. Kalish is expected to be at Wrigley Field in time for the game so I expect him to be in the lineup. He's had a lot of success at almost every level of the minor leagues during his rehab assignment and subsequent assignment to Pawtucket. Hopefully he'll bring a little bit of energy and enthusiasm the way that Will Middlebrooks did.

  4. Kalish is in CF for the 3rd and final game of the series. Adrian Gonzalez is not in the line up at all.

  5. Bard pitched pretty well today again for Pawtucket going 2 scoreless innings, he did give up 2 hits but didn't walk anyone or hit anyone
